There is a lot of important information in this email so please take the time to read it in its entirety.  This Saturday our team has a bye week and will not be competing in a swim meet.   Please remember that our coaches have offered a free clinic at Planet Swim School this Saturday.  The great news is that the clinic is FREE!  The clinic will be held on Saturday, June 17th, 9:30 am - 11:00 am.  The clinic will cover all the starts, turns, and finishes for all four strokes.  Please reply back to this email with your RSVP or text Tina so the coaches have a good idea of how many swimmers will be attending.

Planet Swim School is located at 272 Alta Mar Drive Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl 32082.  When you come to the gate in Sawgrass, just say you are going to Planet Swim.  

All practices will be held at the Murabella pool.  Notice the practice groups & times have rotated.

Tuesday 6/13, Wednesday 6/14, Thursday 6/15 & Friday 6/16:

7-8 age group           7:00 am- 8:00 am

9 & Up age group      8:00 am- 9:15 am

6 & Under age group  9:15 am- 10:00 am

*It was stated at the beginning of the season that swim practice is not a “drop off” activity.  This is set up for safety purposes and that all children are supervised by an adult.  The board and coaches are fine with you leaving practice as long as you have arranged another adult to supervise your child in your absence.  Your child needs to know who to go to should they need attention, deal with behaviors, & leave with should weather come into play.

Only 3 more regular season meets to RSVP for so please remember to RSVP- YES- my swimmer is attending OR NO- my swimmer is not attending.

Monday Clinics:

It seems Coach Junior’s first swim clinic was very beneficial for our turtles at Saturday’s meet.  Tomorrow Junior will be holding the breaststroke clinic at the King & Bear pool.  The 6 & under clinic has 1 spot available, 7-11 age groups has 2 spots available, and the 12 & up has 5 spots available.  If you are interested please contact Tina at 904-704-5911 by noon tomorrow.   Next week’s clinic (6/19/17) is on starts & turns.  Please sign up with Tina this week at practice.

Starts/ Turns

** Throughout this clinic we will be working on starts/turns and drills for all strokes to help improve diving off the blocks and work on the turns for us to be more efficient off the walls. Also, we will be working on the reaction off the blocks. This is a great opportunity to spend some time to go over the details of starts and turns.

 

CHAMPS- Friday, July 14th (8 years old & under) & Saturday, July 15th (9 years old & up):

It is hard to believe that Champs is only one month away.  Any swimmer that has participated in at least 3 regular season swim meets (this includes the mock meet) is welcome to attend Champs.  We are asking that if you know your RSVP now please go to the website and mark yes or no.  RSVP deadline is July 1st.   Any one that is new to the team or has never attended Champs we welcome you to ask any and all questions.  Don't forget to order your Champs shirts.  They will not be selling the shirts at the Champs meet, so please make sure to order before the deadline June 15th!

Our last team order of tank tops and t-shirts have arrived and are available for pick up this week at practice.  Also, we only have 9 Fighting Turtles caps left so be sure to purchase yours before they are sold out!.
