    Champs Information!

    Hello Parents

A few tidbits of information for you about Champs to address some questions we have received.

    • The order of events for Champs this year is not the same as a regular swim meet. You can see the order of events here. It is also attached to this email.
    • It is critical that you arrive on time for warmups! Arrival times and heat sheets will be sent out in a parent letter shortly.   Arrival time will be between around 6:15
    • All swimmers will warm up together first thing in the morning. For older swimmers who will not swim until later in the day, there will be warm up/cool down lanes available. These will not be for hanging out and playing, just active warm-up & recovery.  Taylor and Josh will let you know if you should use these lanes
    • No Tech suits or swim caps with logos other than Fighting Turtles are allowed.  Swimmers will receive a DQ if these guidelines are not followed
    • We are still in need of volunteers. If you have children swimming that day, we are asking you to volunteer for one shift.   If you are scheduled to volunteer please see Theresa for your parking pass. She will be at practice from 9-10 this week, if this doesn't work for you please text for times to meet (201)-600-8467
    • Unlike a regular meet, we are limited to one (1) relay per age group/gender. This means that the majority of swimmers will not get relays. Individual swimmers do get three (3) individual events at Champs, so as long as your swimmer has a legal time in at least three events, he or she should swim three races.
    • You do not have to bring tents to Champs! As a matter of fact, they are not allowed due to space considerations. We have reserved large tents for each team and you just need to bring chairs and your cooler and plan to spend time with your team mates under the team tent.  Please remember NO chairs are allowed to be set up inside and on the pool deck
    • The responsibility of concessions is handled by a different team. This year, Heritage Landing has that responsibility and they have secured 6-8 food trucks to handle that job. At this time we don't know which trucks will be there, but we have been assured that it will be a wide variety of options for families looking for more substantial food during the day.
    • Splash out hunger is underway, please remember to bring non perishable food items to practice this week
    • And finally, in preparation for Champs, we will continue with our normal practice schedule this week, including Friday morning!

If you have any other questions about Champs, please let us know. Heat sheets and more detailed information will be out later this week!  It's going to be a fun day!

    Go TURTLES!

PS - If you haven't paid for your banquet, please do so this week (Ashley, Jessica or Theresa will be accepting your payment)
